1 Quiz markdown file
- A plain-text
.md file. Start from the template.
- Line 1:
# Quiz — Your Title.
- Questions:
**Q1.** [tag] Question? then options - A) … to - D) …. The [tag] (verse, hadith or page number) is optional.
- True/false: start the question with
*True or False:* and give - A) True and - B) False.
- End with
# Answer Key and one line per question: - **Q1.** [tag] — **B**.
- After choosing the file, read the preview. Green "Looks good" means continue; a red list means fix the file and choose it again.
2 Quiz type (menu)
- A type is a group in the Select Quiz menu, such as "Qur'an Tafseer" or "Hadith". Pick an existing type when your quiz belongs with others.
- Choose + Create a new quiz type… only for a new subject. The boxes below are filled from your file (title, "Based on" line, headers and tags); check them:
- Type name
- Menu and home-page name. Example: Hadith.
- Short description
- One sentence under the name on the home page. Example: Questions from Sahih al-Bukhari, book by book.
- What is each quiz file called?
- The word for one file in this type; it labels the first dropdown on the test page. Example: Book, Set, Soorah.
- Range unit
- The word for the number in your [tags]; it labels the From/To dropdowns. Example: Hadith, Verse, Page. Ignored if your file has no tags.
3 Details
- Quiz title
- Taken from your file's title line. This is what people see in the quiz dropdown. Re-uploading with the same title replaces your earlier version.
- Sort order (number)
- Position in the quiz dropdown; lower comes first. Filled from a
Sort order: line or the number in the title (e.g. "Level 3"). Blank sorts by title.
- Highest range number
- Only shown when the file has tags. The largest number the "To" dropdown should offer, e.g. total lectures or verses. Filled from a
Highest range number: line, a phrase like "24 lectures" in the header, or the highest tag found.
4 Upload
- Upload checks the file, saves it, and updates the menu. A link to the new test appears when done.
- Cancel returns to the home page without saving.
- Made a mistake? Fix the file and upload it again with the same title, or delete it under "Manage existing quizzes" below.
